THOUGHTS/ASSESSMENT:
This 400 Lumen blowtorch is much smaller than we expected, and the ambi controls well-placed for easy activation. Reflectors are just as big a deal as lumens, and this one throws a smooth, flawless beam with no dark spots or holes in in.
The variable adjustment feature is intriguing. Sometimes high-beams hammer your night vision (splashback off of hallway walls for instance). This is compact enough that just for grins, I threw one of these in a handgun mag pouch and took it when I walked my dog one evening. On the lower settings, I could easily read street signs in my neighborhood. The intense center beam had a soft corona around it, lighting areas in the peripheral areas. Also, I figured if I needed it badly, I could unleash the strobe on a ne'er do well, as dark-adatpted eyes would be seeing spots for a few seconds at least. Contigencies.
